Speaker 1 00:00:03 Guys, welcome to another episode of Moving to Maryland. Today, I'm here with Tressa, Caitlin. Megan. Hey guys. Hey. Speaker 2 00:00:08 Hello. Speaker 1 00:00:09 And today we're gonna talk about some of our favorite restaurants in Harbor East. Now, before we get into it, if you guys want to learn more about Harbor East, check out the link in the corner of the video and you can check out the Harbor East episode. All right, let's just jump right into this. Trsa, what's your favorite place in the harbor East? Speaker 3 00:00:24 My favorite place in Harbor East is the lock bar. Why? Uh, I love the atmosphere there. It's, um, very bright because it's waterfront. Um, good vibe. It's chatty. Um, the food is fantastic, but it's got it's casual. It's also right at the base of the Four Seasons Hotel, so you've got a lot of people traveling, which is always fun to talk to new people coming to our city, and it has an awesome outdoor space facing the water. Speaker 1 00:00:50 What about you, Caitlin? Speaker 2 00:00:53 Tata is by far my favorite restaurant, uh, in Harbor East. They have excellent pasta and steaks, anything that you might want. And an excellent wine selection and Speaker 3 00:01:03 A great courtyard. Speaker 2 00:01:03 Yeah, the courtyard is court. Awesome. Perfect. In the summer, it's really nice to sit out there. Great servers. Oh yes, <laugh>. Yeah. The service also is out of this world, <laugh>, Speaker 1 00:01:12 What it's called the Atlas Courtyard or Speaker 2 00:01:15 Atlas Quarter. Quarter. Yep. Yep. And in there you have Monarch, um, the Elk Room, Italian Disco, and Tata. So a little something for everybody. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:01:24 We'll, we'll circle back after talking to Megan. What's your favorite? Speaker 2 00:01:27 So, my favorite is the Charleston. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Uh, we went there, my husband and I went there for the first time, um, just because I think, uh, one of our friends recommended it. It was like highly recommended. And boy, not only was the food good, but like you, when you go to the Charleston, the service there is ridiculous. Like, the atmosphere is fine dining, like the food's amazing, but really like having, like, I mean, we could only go there very occasionally just because it's, it's a little bit more on the pricey side, but they know our names, they know us. They're like, how are you? How have you been? Like, it's, you don't get that many places. So, Speaker 1 00:02:01 Yeah, I have a hard time. So I love Taglia. I love, uh, having, you know, uh, hanging out outside before dinner, um, going in. And then the, the different choices, uh, after dinner. There are other restaurants right off the quarter there. Um, waterfront, uh, if we're eating sushi, we like a Zoomie, which is on the waterfront. Then you got maximum, uh mm-hmm. <affirmative>, you know, good Spanish food. Um, it was a first restaurant we took, uh, our son Flynn too. After Covid when things opened back up. No, uh, lock bar. Just same reason. Tresa likes it. Uh, waterfront casual, good seafood, good lobster roll, really good stuff. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Uh, what about Italian food? Speaker 2 00:02:40 So, for me, like Italian, I'll go to Taglia. Mm-hmm. They have some really good stuff there. Um, that's pretty much it. <laugh> Speaker 3 00:02:49 <laugh>. Shali has really good homemade pastas, like all their pastas, homemade, their sauces are homemade and they do this thing, well, I dunno if they still have been doing it, cuz they, I haven't been there within a little bit maybe the last couple of months. But they used to do this thing called the, uh, NNO Corner. Uhhuh <affirmative>. And you can pick a, an appetizer, a pasta in a dessert, and it was a prefixed price. Oh, nice. For those nights that you feel like having just pasta mm-hmm. <affirmative>. So I like the environment there too. Speaker 1 00:03:17 So like that's eight days a week for you? Speaker 3 00:03:19 No, actually Speaker 2 00:03:20 <laugh> Speaker 3 00:03:21 Eat that much pasta, but, Speaker 1 00:03:23 Um, what about you, Caitlin? Speaker 2 00:03:25 I mean, if the question is Italian, I mean, you know, Tata, that's it for me. Um, but I can say also, not Italian, but a Zoomie, um, has really just been a standout for me. Recently, my husband and I went out there and we did the Ooma Casa menu, which is like the chef's tasting, and it was so spectacular. And the timing of the meal was excellent, and we were like, not too full. You know, sometimes you do like a 10 course tasting, you feel like you need to roll out of there. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, it was just, it was the perfect amount of food in the perfect time. I can't recommend it anymore highly, honestly. So, little fun fact. I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but we did, uh, at Zoomi, we had a couple friends and we wanted to do that tasting menu, but we realized it's not anything different from the actual menu. Speaker 2 00:04:13 So cheaper wise, it'd be better to order all the special rules off of the menu and then order like a, uh, the 14 like sushi or sashimi platter. And it's actually like cheaper, the same price as the Omo Cassi. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Now that's a pro tip right there, <laugh>. And if you're going with a group, they recently put in that, um, the Flame Room, which I haven't had the opportunity to do yet, but it's really cool. I would love to get a group together. Yeah. Good. I we do that. That would be really, really fun. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:04:43 So, you know, we, uh, what, what's cool about Harbor East? Like, we like chews. It's been there, it's a little more affordable. Sushi. Um, there's the, uh, place with the loud music. Um, come on. Speaker 2 00:04:56 Sushi place. The loud music with the loud music. Come on. Raw. Raw. Yeah. Raw <laugh>. I didn't know it had loud music. They do have loud music. Speaker 3 00:05:04 I think they do a good happy hour there too. Speaker 1 00:05:06 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So, you know, ra we, we, we, I haven't been there in a while, but, but we like ra when you wanted something upbeat, like happy hour, you know, I'm not a big drinker. I don't drink at all, so, but, uh, when I did like, we would go to raw a a bit, it was kind of like a nice, yeah. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> loud music. Yeah. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> place. But, um, what's cool about Harbor East is you have, uh, some casual places. You have Taco Fiesta, one of the first restaurants in Harbor East. Yeah. I knew Jerry. Uh, I ran into Jerry when he was looking at Harbor East. I knew Jerry from 1991 in College Park. Oh, wow. We had a Taco Fiesta menu's the same too. It's, it's just timeless, like fast casual. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> top, um, you know, Mexican food. That's Speaker 3 00:05:43 It. Keeps it very fresh. All the food there is really fresh. They make their own chips, uh, can't go wrong going there. And they have really great drinks at the bar too. Speaker 2 00:05:52 That's my recollection. Yeah. <laugh> Speaker 3 00:05:54 Drinks not the food. Remember that? Yeah. Speaker 1 00:05:57 So we love Italian disco pizza. Oh yeah. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> right there in the Atlas corner. Uhhuh <affirmative> Meatballs, I mean. Oh yeah. And they do karaoke and my wife can actually sing pretty good, Speaker 2 00:06:07 So. Oh yeah. My favorite like, uh, laid back place, um, is the Harbor East Deli. I was just gonna say, can't forget about the deli. That is my favorite place. Like, they're open till like past midnight on certain days, and they're the best. They have amazing pizza. I love their fries, and they have the absolute best honey mustard I've ever eaten in my life. <laugh>, I will go there just to get those packets of their honey mustard. That's a strong endorsement. <laugh>, Speaker 1 00:06:32 What about your, uh, in Harre, your favorite Lebanese restaurant? Speaker 2 00:06:38 I think it's the only one. The Lebanese Tavern. <laugh> <laugh>. To be honest, I've never been food, but <laugh> Yeah. Speaker 1 00:06:44 We, yeah, we, we've been going there for years. Speaker 3 00:06:46 Really. It's very healthy. There's a lot of vegetarian options. Yeah. Um, great fish and really nice people. The people that manage or work there are awesome. Speaker 1 00:06:55 Yeah. I mean, who doesn't love Uzo Bay? And then I do Uzo Beach. Speaker 3 00:07:01 I love Uzo Bay. Yeah. Their food is exquisite. Best lamb chops anywhere. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, just, um, really professional environment. Always played nice music in the background. The ladings great. It was one of their first restaurants and probably my really my favorite as far as ambience GOs. Speaker 2 00:07:20 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Also really high quality fish. Yes. Like if you're a person who likes to eat fish. Yeah. Like, that's the place for it. It's really good. Speaker 1 00:07:29 Yeah. And when it's, uh, when it gets nice this spring to eat outside mm-hmm. Speaker 2 00:07:33 Then oh yeah. Speaker 1 00:07:34 Cruise over to the, uh, Uzo Beach. It's pretty cool. Speaker 2 00:07:37 It's beautiful. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. And the cruise over is just a walk across the pedestrian lane for everybody who wants to know that cruise Speaker 1 00:07:43 Across the street, like 20 feet, Speaker 2 00:07:46 <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:07:47 What about, um, any other places we haven't talked about? Speaker 2 00:07:50 So I absolutely love Monarch. I take anybody who, like, we just had friends come up from college to visit us a couple weekends ago and we took them there and we Speaker 1 00:07:59 On the Speaker 2 00:08:00 Weekend. Yep. On the weekend. I, so I love their food, but for me, the whole thing about Monarch is the, um, entertainment experience of it. So I will only take people or really go on the weekends when they have shows. Um, but the whole premise is like, they're burlesque, right. Like restaurant. So when we took our friends there, um, you know, they're doing like these acrobatic tricks with her body and then she literally was like, clear the table and on our table, put the chair and started doing, or yeah. Put the chair and started doing handstands. And I'm like, this is insane. Like, where else can Speaker 1 00:08:31 You downward dog on your table? Speaker 2 00:08:32 <laugh>? Um, <laugh>, no, not really, but Speaker 1 00:08:35 Some sort of, uh, yoga movie table. Speaker 3 00:08:38 Yeah. Speaker 1 00:08:38 Right. Yeah. Yeah. Nothing like Speaker 3 00:08:40 Dinner in his show. I mean, that's Speaker 2 00:08:41 It really. They're Speaker 1 00:08:42 There for, we went to a birthday party there. It was, it was spectacular. Speaker 2 00:08:44 It's so cool. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:08:45 The, the food there. What about, um, I mean, we haven't talked about the bygone. Speaker 2 00:08:50 Oh yeah. That is the best view. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:08:53 It's a great place to take anywhere clients or people from outta town. There's mm-hmm. <affirmative>, no view. Like it and it looks beautiful there. I mean, it's just really done an excellent taste. Yeah. Um, great Cocktails. Speaker 1 00:09:05 The whiskey bar up there. Speaker 3 00:09:06 Yeah. The whiskey. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not a big whiskey drinker myself, but people that I have taken their, Speaker 1 00:09:11 You don't have to drink whiskey up there, but I mean, they have, you know, they, they have all these whiskeys, but it, it's a full, it's a full bar, but what's nice about that room is it's, uh, kind of like private. So you can have like a birthday party up there, which I've been to quite a few. I think I might've had a birthday party up there at one point. So, Speaker 2 00:09:27 Um, yeah. And if you like, kind of the club environment too, like if you're looking for somewhere to go to, like a high end kind of club late night experience. Oh yeah. They do have Agon is really, really great for that. If that's the scene that you're looking for. Yeah. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Yeah. Yeah. Also for live music too. Um, since we're on that, uh, the Keystone Corner has great live jazz is such a cool experience. I've, I don't, I've actually never seen jazz before until going there, but it's a really cool time. Speaker 1 00:09:54 And we used to love Roy's that that closed down Speaker 2 00:09:57 During Oh yeah. And um, that's gonna be the new steakhouse. Speaker 3 00:10:00 No, it's fl spot. The Speaker 2 00:10:02 Fl the Fleming spot. Sorry. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:10:03 What's Speaker 1 00:10:04 Going in at Roy's? Anybody know what, what's happening Speaker 3 00:10:05 There? I dunno. I don't know. Something Sure. Something. Sure. But the new steakhouse is called the Rockton. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:10:10 That's Irish exquisite reopen. Speaker 1 00:10:12 James. Speaker 2 00:10:14 That's a good time. Speaker 1 00:10:15 Great place. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:10:16 Um, can't forget the Hoen Doss. Oh yes. Classic. Classic ice Speaker 3 00:10:21 Cream. It is Speaker 1 00:10:22 Good. That's what makes Harbor East. Harbor East is like, literally you have so many choices and I, I still, there's some, a bunch that we haven't even really talked about. Yeah. The the other thing too is you're right next to Harbor Point, you're right next to Fell's Point. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, um, right next Truss's Little Italy. Speaker 3 00:10:36 Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. You can't make a bad move. Speaker 2 00:10:38 <laugh>. No. And it's all like, you Speaker 3 00:10:40 Really can't Speaker 2 00:10:41 Serious walking distance. Like it's, you just like, oh, I can't get there. Let's move on to the next one. Speaker 1 00:10:47 Yeah. Restaurants, right. Um, in the whole city. And I truss, I think would, it would be one of hers is Laskas. Literally, some people might even call that Harre. It's literally on the edge of Harre, right? Speaker 3 00:10:59 Yeah. It's a half a block away. <laugh> Speaker 2 00:11:02 <laugh>. Speaker 3 00:11:02 Like, the ideal night is to have dinner at Lascala and then walk over to Atlas quarter Yep. And have drinks and pop around there. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:11:10 Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's, that's a variation of, uh, of a drink. Speaker 3 00:11:13 I'll be doing that Saturday night. Speaker 2 00:11:15 <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:11:15 Is that, is that your, uh, yeah. Speaker 2 00:11:17 Is that your plan? Start with the espresso martini from Los Galla and then Speaker 1 00:11:21 Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. So, uh, you know, when you live in Harbor East, there's, there's no row homes, although they're, they're close by in Little Italy and Fells Point and Upper Fells Point Butchers Hill, uh, living in Harbor East is all apartments and condos, right? Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Yes. Speaker 2 00:11:35 <affirmative>. Yeah. Chris and I used to live in Spinnaker and we loved living there, honestly, because you've got everything right there. They just put the whole foods in where the liberty is. So that's extremely convenient. Um, Speaker 3 00:11:48 Yeah, it's easy living for sure. Speaker 2 00:11:49 Yeah. Absolutely. Speaker 3 00:11:50 Very fun. And Speaker 1 00:11:51 When you guys, that's the attraction of living there. There is just all of that, all of those choices. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, I mean, every night you could have a different great meal, fast casual, really high end. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, uh, you know, your anniversary, uh, just going out for drinks, uh, going to Little Italy and cruising on, uh, trusses, uh, mapped out tour. Mm-hmm. Speaker 4 00:12:09 <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:12:11 Um, so we're all real estate agents, TRSA, Megan, Caitlin, myself, uh, if you have any interest in checking out, uh, any of the spots in Harbor East, uh, reach out to us.
