Speaker 1 00:00:03 Welcome to another episode of Moving to Maryland. Today we're gonna talk about a really cool community, about 15 minutes north of Baltimore City, white Marsh. I'm here with Rush Mayor, Caitlin and Josh. Hey guys. Hey. Hello. Speaker 2 00:00:14 How's it going? Speaker 1 00:00:14 Hello. So let's, let's jump right in the to White Marsh. Caitlin, where would you say it's located in a little bit about the history? Speaker 2 00:00:20 Okay, so White Marsh is just northeast of Baltimore City, surrounded by the communities of Nottingham, Parkville Kearney, Perry Hall, Essex, and Middle River. Um, originally it was a small farming community, but in the sixties they started developing it and now it's a thriving town center that serves like, as an amenities hub for all of those surrounding neighborhoods. Speaker 1 00:00:42 Yeah, that's awesome. Speaker 3 00:00:43 Yes. And it's conveniently located to all major highways, 6 95, 95, 43, and it's also 15 minutes from downtown, 15 minutes to Aberdeen. Speaker 1 00:00:56 Yeah. It's a great place, uh, for a lot of the regional employers and their employees to, to live because of just, I can't think of another place that has the, the community amenities of, of White Marsh. And it's such a, um, classic location that all of these other surrounding areas get kind of lobb in. It is like the white Marsh area. So you grew up not too far from there and probably didn't even know if you were in Nottingham or Perry Hall or White Marsh, right? Speaker 4 00:01:23 Yeah, I don't think many people do, but I think, uh, I think White Marsh gets deemed that area, um, opposed to people saying, I'm from Nottingham, I'm from Perry Hall, just because it's such a condensed area. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> and all the amenities are pretty much in that white Marsh area. So, Speaker 1 00:01:38 Uh, let's talk about, you know what a lot of people like, when I think of White Marsh, I think of about White Marsh Mall, like a lot of us, right? Like, that's where I've found White Marsh and you know, I go there once a week with our two year old to Dave and Busters, which I love. But what, what are some of the other places that you're gonna find, uh, uh, in, in White Marsh Mall in, in that a, the avenue, that area? Speaker 2 00:01:55 Well, I'm a sucker for Ikea <laugh>, you know, it's, um, actually the third Ikea ever built in the US and the oldest, um, that's still open. So if you love Swedish Meat Falls, no, that's, that's where you get your fix. Speaker 3 00:02:09 Okay. And we have a movie theater there. Um, we also have, uh, Dave and Busters there. We also have Wayward way some of the restaurants, um, around on the avenue. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Speaker 4 00:02:22 Yeah. There's also a Chili's, um, she said, uh, wayward Bandidos as well. There's, um, a Texas Roadhouse actually right outside of the avenue, but still relatively close Speaker 1 00:02:33 And Caly. If somebody asked about the walkability of that area, what would you des how would you describe that? Speaker 2 00:02:38 I would say that if you live right around the town center, and there are absolutely homes and condos that are right within walking distance of the town center, you could live there without transportation. Um, aside from that, it is a little bit more, um, you know, you need to, to have a car to drive around to get to different places. Um, a little bit different than some of the downtown communities Speaker 1 00:03:00 And Rashmir, you live in that area, and Josh, you grew up, you know, in that area quite a bit. Uh, talk, let's talk about green spaces. There are a lot of parks and things. Speaker 3 00:03:08 There's a lot of parks around the area. We have Honey Gold Park. We also have like gunpowder, state Park. Um, we have kayaking, fishing, canoeing. All of those things are just like right there in Perry Hall. White Marsh. Speaker 4 00:03:22 Yeah, there's, there's a ton of great parks. There's Collington as well go as well. Great. Great. If you like to go out on the trails, you know, do some hiking. Speaker 1 00:03:29 Yeah. Uh, you know, I, when I think about that area too, I think about Martin State Airport, which is not that far from there. So that's another thing people don't think about. Like you, you have easy in and out from an airport there. Uh, you know, if you got your private jet going, right, Speaker 4 00:03:43 <laugh>, hey, only on Tuesdays. Speaker 1 00:03:45 Um, but, but that, that general region, um, when I think about white Marsh too, and, uh, living in that area, you have, uh, you know, great restaurants on the waterfront that are not too far. You got all these different things, but let's, let's jump into real estate and what are some of rusher, what are some of the, um, the, the range of real estate you can find in that area? Speaker 3 00:04:04 Um, the range of real estate is, um, it ranged from like the twos, the lower the upper twos up, say for condos up until about the upper eights. Speaker 1 00:04:14 Sure. And what are, what are some of those, uh, choices you have in that price range there, Caitlin? Speaker 2 00:04:18 Um, I mean, it's a lot of like new development. So like she said, condos, town homes, there is still new construction happening. So if you are looking for a new construction home, you can definitely find that there as well. Speaker 1 00:04:30 And what about investor opportunities in that general area? Speaker 4 00:04:34 So there may not be too many investor opportunities just because a lot of the homes are newer homes. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, um, but you know, there, there are plenty of, there are still opportunities out there. Condos are, some of the condo units are a little bit older, so you can scoop a couple of them up. Speaker 1 00:04:50 Yeah. You know, I was thinking more like long term holds, you know, picking up properties that, that were rented out. Um, there, you know, there aren't any, you know, there's not a lot of like super old houses that are gonna be renovated and, and and flipped like that. But the four of us are in real estate. We're all real estate agents. Rashmir, Caitlin, Josh, myself. If you have any interest in moving or finding out more information about White Marsh or any of those surrounding areas, please reach out. Our contact info is in this post and we look forward to seeing you next episode.
